This is, to me the rock & roll song, hands down, no argument, don’t make me come over there, you. Now that Samuel Adams beer has co-opted George Thorogood & the Destroyers’ Who Do You Love? into their ad campaign, you’d think its impact would be diluted, but no. It’s still rock & roll at its basest, purest form.

Raucous guitar… check.

Drums shoving you out of the way… check.

Bass fills… check.

Bo Diddley beat… check.

Maracas?!? Hell yeah. (Not in this performance, but I still hear ‘em.)

Up-yours lyrics… check.

Hell, I even like the saxophone.

Accept no substitutes.

Finding a live video at the right tempo, however, that was a bit of a challenge. Thank the rock & roll gods for German (German? I think so) television, heh. Here he is, from all the way back in 1995, the man who’s bad to the bone, who drinks alone, hold the phone, it’s George Thorogood & the Destroyers with Who Do You Love?
