So I did an audition for scoring a short. Here’s the final output (on my end… still waiting to hear back from the guys) for your…
enjoyment.

Kind of a
love song, kind of a “hot damn, the sun’s finally out in the Pacific Northwest today!” song. Thoroughly enjoyable.
And a Bob Marley cover, to boot.

Had a cassette of theirs back in high school, and a sticker of theirs on my skateboard. Still do, on both counts. The reason they’re up today is thanks to Glenn Case. Not that he has any connection with them, or even knows they exist, possibly, but…
…I’ll be damned if they don’t sound really similar. The video’s live, and the singer’s a couple steps lower than his studio tone, but wow. Kinda eerie. He’s also the one who started off this song-of-the-day thing with his “10,000 Favorite Songs” madness (which is linked on the left, along with others in the same vein), in case you’re asking yourselves “who the hell is Glenn Case?”

Hey, another
love song. Even got married in August, though this song was nowhere to be heard, heh.

Excellent song for a hungover morning. Old New York/CBGB’s punk band, with a song that became an anthem for many, many in that particular period/scene.
Enjoy, I’ve got to drag my sorry ass to work now, for to feed The Man. Oh boy.

Alas, the youtube I found for this is an abbreviated (and mutilated) version, but still… if you’ve ever been curious as to what’s going on in my brain, this is as good an example as anything.
Time to go back to listening to the real thing, heh.

Man, I love The Vandals. And spaghetti western music. Don’t worry, even if you don’t recognize the title, you’ll recognize the song.
Yee-freakin’-haw!
