Well shit, looks like it’s turning into Oingo Boingo week, and today’s post does nothing to contradict that.

Heh.

Ever since I found the YouTube repository(s) of live Oingo Boingo, this song has been stuck in my head, inbetween self-medicating sessions. Forbidden Zone is: a song, a movie, a soundtrack, fucking infectious. Max has posted it too, so I’ll let his researched and information-laden entry speak for me, too. Ain’t I a stinker?

One & a half takes of Forbidden Zone for y’all today, a live version from a show in 1980, and Danny Elfman’s scoring of the theme to the now-cancelled Dilbert television show. WTF, you ask? Watch the footage… you’ll get it.

Here’s a song I’ve always wanted to learn… emphasis on wanted, heh. From Oingo Boingo’s debut EP (along with wanting to learn, well, the rest of the songs on the EP, actually), here’s a live performance of Ain’t This The Life from 1980.

Got a live show coming up myself, this Friday, so I guess this week’ll be full of “inspirational” songs for your listening pleasure. How it’s gonna fly with my leg in a fluorescent pink cast, I dunno… but it should be interesting.

Wife bought me some wifebeaters, and since it’s warm out, figured I’d wear it while working on dark(ish) music.

Wife beater + darkish music = Oingo Boingo, naturally. Three takes of Oingo Boingo’s Little Girls for y’all today. The official version’s video, complete with midgets, little girls, and (yes, of course) wifebeater. The second is the 1981 demo of the song, with a wifebeater peeking out in a still from video number one.

And the third is live, 1990, from the Irvine Meadows Hallowe’en show. Wifebeater (could there be any doubt?), black this time, but more amazingly, a show I was actually at. Up in fuck-all nosebleed, lounging on the grassy knoll. Hot diggety.
